Check Valves

Check valves, also known as non-return valves, are designed to allow media to flow in one direction while automatically preventing reverse flow. They are commonly installed to protect pumps, compressors, pipework and other equipment from backflow.

Unlike manually operated isolation valves, check valves normally operate automatically using the pressure and direction of the flowing medium. When flow moves in the intended direction, the valve opens. If the flow stops or begins to reverse, the internal mechanism closes to prevent backflow.
